OMG! Coconut Rope? Really? Tell us more!

We have another special demonstration this month, the first time we’ve had an introduction to and demonstration of coconut rope tying techniques for sensuous ground tie experiences.  This will be led by Austin and Carol.

This Month: Fundamentals 101 (Part 1)

We’re diving deeper into the building blocks of a solid practice. Whether you’re looking to refine your technique or starting from scratch, we’re covering:

  • The Essentials: Safety & Consent (the foundation of every tie).

  • The Mechanics: Mastering reverse tensions, half hitches and munter hitches

  • The Structure: Hip harnesses, in-line cuffs, leg ties, and more!

Pro-Tip: Teaching is the best way to learn. If you’ve finished the Fundamentals series, come back as an assistant! It’s a great way to solidify your own muscle memory while giving back to the community

Want to practice with someone?

Don’t worry about coming solo! To make meeting new practice partners easier, we’ll have color-coded wristbands at the door:

  • Black: Tops

  • Purple: Bottoms

  • Orange: Switches

  • Note: These signify your preference for the day and a desire to meet people—they are not an automatic "yes" to any tie. These just help the conversation get started.

Getting Here & The Space

  • Address: 1200 McKee St, McKees Rocks, PA 15136

  • Arrival: Pull into the fenced-in lot in the rear (limited parking available inside). Look for the white door under the white awning (the one with the couches) on the left side of the building.

Our Values:

  • Sober Space: All Rope Bite events are 100% sober.

  • Inclusivity: We welcome all identities and expect a baseline of radical respect and empathy for every attendee.

  • Safety: We reserve the right to refuse admittance to maintain a safer environment. If you ever have concerns about an attendee, please reach out to us directly.

Coming up:

  • May 10th: Rope Bite Skill Share (with Fundamentals Pt 2)

  • June 14th: Rope Bite Skill Share (with Fundamentals Pt 3)

  • July 12th: Rope Jam!

Join the Team!

We are looking for hands to help with social media, website updates, and writing these very emails! If you’ve finished the fundamentals, consider staying to assist others—it’s the best way to sharpen your own skills.
